Dr. Jolly Mazimhaka

Dr Jolly Mazimhaka is a professional educationist of over 30 decades. She started her career in Education teaching Literature in English at Mount Saint Mary's College Namagunga in Uganda, and at Loreto Convent Girls School Limuru in Kenya. After obtaining her PhD, she worked as a lecturer in Commonwealth Literature in English at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

At the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Dr Jolly Mazimhaka occupied several positions, including: Lecturer in English; Lecturer in Research Methodology; Director: Academic Quality Assurance; and as Acting Vice-Rector in charge of Academic Affairs & Research. It was during this period that she also became an Associate Professor in English.

At the University of Rwanda (UR), Dr Jolly Mazimhaka occupied the position of the University Director for Teaching and Learning Enhancement in charge of administering the office of Teaching & Learning at the UR headquarters, and for coordinating the quality of programmes, of teaching and of learning in the six Colleges of University of Rwanda.

Previously Dr Jolly Mazimhaka was an active member of the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), Member of the Executive Committee of the East African Quality Assurance Committee (EACQAN), and President of the Rotary Club of Kigali-Virunga among others. She is currently a freelancer in Higher Education, and is also a member of several boards.

Dr Mazimhaka holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Literature in English and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Makerere University, a Masters degree in Liberal Arts (Commonwealth Literature) and a PhD in Renaissance Drama with a focus on gender, class, and race dynamics from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.She is currently involved in the University of Global Health Equity Mentorship programme as a Mentor.
