From Campus to Community: Ardent Mentorship's Ongoing Impact on Davis College Graduates (Part 1)

In the realm of higher education, true success extends beyond graduation. Davis College is sponsoring a mentorship program that nurtures our alumni's potential after they've graduated.

Welcome to our kickoff segment of Ardent Mentorship Chronicles, a series dedicated to showcasing the transformative impact of this mentorship on Davis College alumni. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing inspiring stories, insights, and updates from this initiative that nurtures our graduates' potential after they've graduated.

Ardent Mentorship pairs our ambitious Davis College graduates with seasoned professionals, offering faith-based guidance in the field of social entrepreneurship. This approach is yielding remarkable results, as exemplified by the journey of Jean Expert, one of our recent alumni who graduated in class of 2023, in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

Jean Expert's brainchild, Terimbere AG, epitomizes the vision we have for our graduates. This pig-rearing enterprise isn't just a business; it's a beacon of hope addressing Rwanda's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 2) to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030. By providing top-quality pork products and organic fertilizers, Jean Expert aims to tackle food insecurity and soil fertility issues, enhance agriculture practices, and contribute to a sustainable future by improving lives in and around Mahama refugee camp - a community he once called home.

The impact of Ardent Mentorship on Jean Expert's venture has been substantial:

  1. Bi-monthly mentoring sessions have provided consistent guidance and accountability.

  2. Hands-on support in crafting a comprehensive Business Plan has transformed his vision into a viable strategy.

  3. Ongoing work on a detailed Project Plan is paving the way for formal introductions to major stakeholders and partners/funders.

This tailored support exemplifies how Ardent Mentorship is equipping our alumni to become agents of change in their communities.
