We recently caught up with a few of our Class of 2022 students, to hear more about their experiences at Davis College and their dreams for the future.

Emma Bana Bonte, Information Systems, Class of 2022

"Davis College is more than just a college, it is a place to transform your life! Every student is given support that is needed to grow both academically and as a leader in the community. Everyone has the opportunity to explore their potential by participating in competitions, attending international meetings and fellowships, being matched with hiring managers, and having counselors along the way.

The curriculum is well structured with both technical and leadership skills that will help me to compete in the job market. We are encouraged to understand what we are doing, rather than simply memorizing the content. As an Information Systems student, I get to work on practical projects every week either individually or in collaboration with other students.

I joined Davis College because I wanted both a flexible and affordable college that would equip me with relevant and practical skills. In addition, I wanted an environment with smaller class sizes that would allow me to establish a close relationship with students and instructors. 

For me, being a student here means having a family around you that motivates and supports you every single day to become the best version of yourself. We are encouraged to have grit so that we may succeed in our careers, discover our purpose in life, and serve others.

Joining Davis College is one of the best decisions that I have made in my life so far. Before, my self-esteem was very low and I always wondered what I wanted to do. After becoming a student here I discovered who I am, what I am capable of, and what I want in life. I now believe in myself and always have a growth mindset in every situation that I face. My life has changed completely as I now believe that I am capable of reaching absolutely everything that I aspire to be.”

"Looking at the success that Akilah has had over the last 10 years motivated me to join Davis College because I knew this new co-ed college will be just as successful.

There is a huge difference between Davis College and other universities. In particular, the academic experience is always up-to-date with the latest research and learning approaches. Also, everything we study is relevant to the real world and at a very high academic standard.

Davis College is an open environment that is really quite amazing, whether we're learning online or in person. Ideas are shared freely, there are plenty of resources, and it's a place that's full of interesting people and great instructors.

Being a Davis College student means a lot to me because it has allowed me to explore my options, my career path, and what I want to achieve in life. Personally, I not only feel grounded academically, but also well groomed in different aspects of life."
